Newbie here, easiest,brightest mod help

Without driving myself crazy with all the tech terms and searching- what would be the easiest,brightest with a good runtime, modification of a flashlight guide with pictures?

I am asking for the holy grail of lights here,therefore I ask at the pew. A question that I have a hard time finding since after my hiatus in the sandbox(Iraq) now there is new technology out there (Cree) to contend with.

Thanks for your service and welcome to CPF. Are you wanting to mod a light or get one with a Cree? The Fenix P1D CE is probably the best brightest with variable levels light out right now with an XR-E in it thus it can be brightest or good runtime. Some issues for white wall hunters though due to XR-E 'rings' but not an issue for many who just want very bright, tiny and lotsa features. I don't consider Cree mods to be the easiest but there are lots of threads on this in the 'Custom and Modified' section. Good luck.
