Hi, I'm about to put my MCR17 XR reflectors into my trilux and was wondering how to isolate the cree from the reflector? I've seen some people using plastic washers, but I don't have access to them (also, they will make the reflector to high) could I use some tape to do the job, or do I need anything at all?
thanks,
Keith

As long as you have some electrical tape to cover the leads with it should be fine. I would be careful but You should be fine with a litle elextircal tape.

I just played around with some reflectors I received from the shoppe (17, 19, 27).
Except for the 27, there is no way any could make contract with the leads, as both sit on this metal housing ring of the emitter, high above the contacts and even thick wires.
Especially the 17 is better, as it is also centered when put onto the led.

Where do You see the problem?

:huh2: For some strange reason, I thought that the metal ring was connected to +.
Thanks,
