Can someone explain the difference between Fenix and Jetbeam for me?

I've seen the name "JetBeam" thrown about before, but this is the first time I actually looked at one.

It appears very Fenix-like.

Or is the Fenix very Jetbeam-like? Over all, which is the better light? I'm a big Fenix fan but Jetbeam may be stealing some of the Fenix thunder.

Thoughts and opinions appreciated, especially owners of both.
In one sentence: Jetbeam designs are similar to Fenix designs in form factor, performance, and function, but with a few improvements, and without many of the "rough edges." You're not really stealing thunder from anybody. Jetbeam generally had a higher quality product, and the higher pricing reflected that. Fenix's business model seems to be centered around giving you lots of bang for your buck.

However, if you look at more recent offerings such as this:

...you'll see that the price difference is slowly disappearing, while light output is increasing.

Fenix was around before Jetbeam. Both are similiar in a lot of ways. Most people that have held or own both seem to think and I personally agree that Jetbeams are a more refined and solid light. My money and preference goes to Jetbeam.

I was a proud owner of both, till I decided to give my Fenix away to my cousin who is in Law Enforcement.

Back in July, I posted a review/comparison of the JetBeam Mark I (in limited run all black) compared to a Fenix L1P:

They're both good lights, but as stated previously, the edge goes to JetBeam as far as quality. I'd say they're about like a Honda (Fenix) and a Lexus (JetBeam). Both get the job done and are reliable and quite nice. One is just a bit more refined and expensive.

The JetBeam AA is usually considered the best of the Fenix L1P clones. It is a great light in its own right. As mentioned, the fit and finish are very good. That's what really sets it apart from others like the Liteflux LF-1 (which is still good). I'm anxious to see an XR-E version of the AA (perhaps with some other upgrades) appear in the near future.

I have both and like them both, but the Jetbeam is a better quality light. At the last Photon Fest, I was offered $100 for my Jet-I mkI light, and turned it down since I couldn't garrantee I could get another one.

Fenix is no doubt the revolutionary with their L1P, and Jetbeam seems to be copying their formula, but with it's own flavour. Their HA coating seem more durable then Fenix's which scratch rather easily.

The Jetbeam also used li-ons first and are brighter with li-ons as compared to Fenix offerings. The Jetbeam had an almost donutless beam (no matter how close to a surface you were) which was bright and white.

Now both companies have a range of lights that are practically similar in some ways or the other.

It's more a preference and price thing, although I like Jetbeam's quality more so far so I would prefer a Jetbeam light, everything else remaining the same.
