Which one to choose ? Green, blue, power ?

Hi. I'm new to lasers and want one only to "play" with... I want a laser able to light matches and pop balloons, maybe burn paper as well...

Is there a color better than another ? Which model could i buy since i don't wanna sell my house to buy a laser unit ? Blue or green is better ? Which price should i pay ? Do you have examples or models to suggest ?

Hi and welcome to the forums. I am fairly new as well and just purchased my own first laser. There are dozens of threads on this site if you take the time to read them. Start with this thread which was near the top of the list when you posted your notice. It has lots of good info on the NV series lasers which many of us feel currently offer the best feature / price combo.

Green.. Because you get the most illuminastics for the money. Blue is still rather expensive, even at low power levels, although im sure prices will come down.
In my opinion, you need 80mw+ if toasting things is your game.
