RE: How to turn off smooth font in IE 7.0

I just installled the IE 7.0 running Windows XP. The fonts are now smooth but to me they are too blurry. Normally I'd go to desktop properties, click on the Appearance tab and click on the effect, but after I click the effect there is NO pop up menu for me to disable the smooth font.
Anyway, I downloaded and installed the Clear Type tuning hoping to reverse the effect but that only works with the other documents NOT when I surf the net.
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
I don't want to reinstall the XP just to repair the properties's tabs.
Thanks,
Tanasit

Try this:
"Tools", "Internet Option", "Advanced", "Multimedia", uncheck "Always use Clear Type for HTML*", then click "OK"

Restart IE7..

If that doesn't work, you can always switch over to Firefox. :grin2:

Apparently it's enabled by default in IE7. Since MS always knows what's best for you, I'd leave it alone

Re: How to turn off smooth font in IE 7.0 (got solution)

Thanks Gregw, I will never find this solution in 2 million years.
Now it is clear and I don't feel like seeing fog on the screen any more.
:thanks: :thanks:
