Fenix P1 Headlamp with external battery pack

So I was wanting to get a headlamp for my dental loupes but I was too cheap to cough up the 800-1200$$ for one made by the big Dental manufactures so I decided to make one out of a P1. The body of the light now made out of Silver which makes a great heatsink. It will run continuously and only gets about half as warm as the origional aluminum body. The battery pack runs off of two AA's and will last about 3 hours or so if on continuously. My only complaint is that the Cree PI came out a month after I built this light. Looks like I may need to make a few more mods.

I can't see any pics, is there anyway you could post a link on it? I am considering converting a P1D-CE into a headlamp with 4 AA batteries too.

How did you make the silver body? It looks like maybe it was cast (lost wax?)

Yeah, I did use lost wax. It was the first time that I have casted anything that big and it barely fit in my casting ring. It has a few little imperfections but I haven't yet had the desire to melt it down and recast it.

I'm loving this upgrade, I can see it having a multitude of uses.
