Inova T4 Needs more power - Suggestions?

I currently have a stock Inova T4. But as I get more and more new lights, I find myself using the T4 less and less.

I was thinking of maybe modding it with one of the new Cree XRE's or a Lux V to breathe some new life into it. Any idea as to what would be the better/easier mod?

1) Would I be able to accomplish either of these tasks with the stock circuit board?

2) since the Lux III, Lux V, and the Cree XRE are all different, how would the beam pattern (focus and spill) be affected given the TIROS optic?

3) Would the freeze/pop technique be possible on the T4?

The TIROS wont work good at all with the XR-E, with the LuxV it will be brighter and wider.

I dont think the stock driver manages to drive a LuxV with its high vF...

I guess a LuxIII U-bin with low vf (U--J) could be an improvement.

How would one of the K2 leds do compared to the UxxJ? Would the sctock circuit board be able to drive it at proper levels?

Would the Focus be affected?

Since the vf of the K2 will be higher the stock driver needs to modify or swap to get more brightness. The K2 is brighter at higher driving levels but with less efficiency.
I don't know but I guess the focus would be around the same.

You can try it with a Cree but for sure with compromises about the beamshape.

A better "all around"-result you will get with a LuxIII UxxJ-bin IMO.
