I'd certainly be interested if they were to offer the low prices and reliable shipping that fenix-store and lighthound do. It would be difficult to provide the low prices with taxes tending to be high in the EU.

Yes but only with U.S. prices!

I would be interested if you can guarantee the same prices but I'm almost sure you can't. Try to import flashlights and you'll see what I mean.

Would be nice, but we sure as hell don't need another rip-merchant selling lights at ridiculous prices. If the cost of a light + shipping is equal or lower than when ordering from the US, it would be great. If the level of service is on par with lighthound & fenix-store, it would be even better.
I think it's all about pricing, many lights ARE available in europe, but they are very expensive. Part of this is the high taxes. Another thing to take into account is that shipping within europe is often more expensive than shipping from the US to europe.

If I got lighthound prices and service yes.

If I got rip-off UK/EU prices, no way.

Again if the service was as good and the prices were good. At the moment the £ against the $ makes getting stuff from the US cheap

I'm from the States, but I'm curious as to whether the EU imposes a uniform import tax, duty, or tariff on goods such as torches. Does the cost to import an item still vary with the country in question, or is the final cost to the buyer more dependent on that country's taxes?

The cost of the import tax will be related to the country the goods are being imported to. Once in the EU, no further import/export tax is due for any trade, otherwise it would impede the free market within the EU.

Interested of course, but you won't be able to pull it off as you'd have to import all the goodies from the USA.

+1

But I doubt you will be able to beat the prices or levels of service.

I wouldn't go for this idea. I prefer to support the UK resellers, who filter through all the garbage and only import the good stuff. It's nice to speak to an individual, such as Chris at glowgadgets.com rather than some big corporation/manufacturer. Also, the higher prices retain exclusivity, so typical CPF lights are rare here, and have a more dramatic impact when presented to non-CPFers.

You want to support the UK resellers because they restrict your choice to their opinion of what is good? And at the same time you like higher prices because they restrict the wider ownership of good quality items?

Interesting point of view.

MikeSalt...if I exclusively used UK retailers I'd never have got my paws on my HDS lights...and that would be a tragedy!

Very interrested but the price and the service must be attractive
