Black Diamond Moonlight headlamp upgraded to Nichia CS.

I justy swapped the leds in this headlamp:

I've had it for a couple years, but hadn'tr taken it apart until now. One big screw holds the head onto the strap. Two little screws hold the two halfs of the head together, and a rupper seal connects them and goes around the LEDs. A little soldering and some Nichia CS LEDs from the sandwhich shoppe, and I was good to go. The hardest part was actually putting the rubber seal back into place. I've got some comparison shots of a stock one next to a modded one, and I'm very happy with the results. The hotspot seems brighter, the spill seems brighter and wider and it is much less blue than before.

I have two moonlights.

One I modded with Nichia NPSW500CS, like you.

The other I put in two SMJLEDs uncut (center) and two low-profile Wah Wangs.

It totally blows away the CS headlamp.

I was actually thinking of putting 2 uncut mjleds in the center and 2 nichia CSes on the sides, or going with all 4 die LEDs like you, but I wasn't sure how much that would shorten the battery life. I may still switch the center LEDs to something else, but I would prefer something less blue than the wahwang/smjleds.
