The photo was in a "Popular Mechanics" magazine. I dont remember which issue but I think it was around last spring.

I think that it was also in a popular gun magazine. I'm a gun guy so.....
The local gun "know it all" said it was a .22 caliber but the only story on
Surefire's website is a .380 caliber. I think that is THE one.

I'll post the pic if I find it.

I don't think it's a big deal. People have been shot in the head with .45's and have it not penetrate. Same with .357's.

It's crazy, but it happens sometimes.

She must think you are pretty thick...:lolsign:

It's true but a well placed SF light or other thick light could save a much more easily damaged part of you.

There you go. Only took two hours for the troops to pull through.

That is a .380 (basically a 9mm with a shortened casing and less powder charge). Not a bad stop. But the thing is IT STILL WORKS!

By the way, where did you find the pic?? Thanks man.

PS- Anybody getting a Surefire go HERE: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/114584&page=1&pp=30

Bought a Surefire L1 tonight! My Nuwai Q3 pooped out. Hit a rock.

I wouldn't doubt that the battery was removed and a custom job was done for the photoshoot. May be wrong though.

I saw that actual 8X when it was handed over to SureFire at a SHOT Show by the owner. It actually still illuminated. I saw it with mine own eyes.

It and an E-Series flashlight that also stopped a bullet have been on display - in fact the E-Series flashlight was on show at SS2007 (it doesn't illuminate though)

Batteries can actually take a fair beating, I have had Nimh 4000mah batteries get creamed in a trailer door, they fought but one died. It's cool though.

I see 5% off surefire lights.

Where are you getting 25% from?

Just be careful though, if the battery leaks... it could cause trouble.
