Sold/Expired FS: KL1-R (KL1 + UW0J + McR20) modded by grnamin *SOLD*

I am going to let this beauty go as I am actually more of a flood guy, but this KL1-R is really bright and true white to my eyes. It throws like mad and It's got the usual wide side spill of the McR20 reflector. Modded by grnamin and is easy to disassemble for upgrades though this really isn't necessary at all. It's fitted with a UCL lens glued to the bezel for waterproofness. No blemishes at all.

Asking $90 shipped anywhere using standard shipping. Insurance is a bit extra.

It throws marginally better than my stock KL1, but of course corona and sidespill is way way more. BTW it runs stock 500 mA, so runtime is great. The beam should essentially be the same as a Mclux-III PD AFAIK.

I can help, I own one too

this is how mine preforms:

It has much more usable spill and is (based on my eyes) 20-30% brighter.

throw is slighly less but the spill more then makes up for it...

Ah, thanks, but is the bezel the same ?
I just bougt a KL1 head also and want to do this same mod.
So if the optics are different, I will swap them with an McR-20...
Are the drive-currents diferrent ?

If I had not bought the head, I would have got this one

This is a KL1 gen4 (new style head) where the TIR optics + the stock (mediocre) LED + the front glass has been removed and replaced with a UW0J LuxIII (top bin) and a McR20 reflector behind a UCL lens. Throw on this one is actually a little better than on my other stock KL1 and of course it has got a wide and bright sidespill very much unlike the stock KL1. This is how Surefire should have made the KL1 in the first place. The reason I'm selling is because I'm mostly using more floody lights like L4 and L5.

Price on the materials alone would be $100-$110 before modding services expenses and before shipping expenses from 3-4 different places.
