You can look for the LU20 upgrade kit from Surefire...very hard to find and it's over $250.00!
The kit makes it 12 Volts & includes the Turbohead and battery extender, with 2 bulbs, MN60-225 lumens & MN61-350 lumens.
I just bought an M3T so that I can interchange heads when I want more throw.

You could use two 17500 protected rechargeables for guilt-free lumens but it would not make the light any brighter. However, it would help keep the beam from turning yellow as fast compared to using three CR123 primaries. IMO the rechargeables have flatter output until their charge is depleted. Oh yeah...welcome to CPF!

Do you have to bore out the body for those rechargables?
Where do I get 'em & how much?
Any run times?

No boring for 17500's. (Those would be 18650 which are fatter.) Lighthound (for one) has them. I've had good results with AW protected rechargeables and with the DSD charger.

Thank for the tip! I wanna use my light all the time, but the cost of batteries make it a no-no.
