-I wanted to know what type of LED's these are.
-Also, where can I get them.
-How do I use them? they look too small to be soldered on.
-Do you have any tutorials/recources on this stuff that I can learn from?
-Is it soldered on to a film or a board?

You aren't (I think) going to be able to work with them You need a very controllable soldering iron with micro tip. (hey I have the iron).

Those look like Nichia SMD's:

They are very small, around 2.5mm X 3mm, with the solder pad on the bottom, just like a Cree XR-E but smaller. You may be able to solder them to a regular fibercore or flexible PCB, but it would be much easier if you use the reflow technique where you put on a tiny bit of solder paste, carefully place the LED on the board and put the whole thing on a hot plate.

BTW, Nichia doesn't sell in small quantities any more, so you have to buy a whole reel (2,500) - bummer ;-( But I'm sure with a little Googling you'll be able to find other manufacturers that make similar prodcuts. Try Mouser and Digikey.

Yes, those are SMD LEDs. You can buy self adhesive flexible strips with SMD LEDs already mounted on them. That's probably what this guy did.

You can even buy strips with resistors or constant current drivers on them, ready for 12 or 24V operation.

sweet! its prolly better to pay a few bucks extra for these, than to do it myself. haha. So Im guessing these little strips have a + and - terminal for soldering the power and stuf huhh. Anyone know what kind of glue I should use to glue the strips inside the headlight housing?
