Its always great to see 3rd Shift's mag mod tutorials..

His instructions are always clear and easy to follow.
So I decided to do a simple mag2D mod. For the sake of bandwidth , I will not show every step...

I happen to have a 2D Mag, and a Cree , heatsink and just to make things interesting a shark that has lost most of its teeth..

I kinda blew it up during a previous mod..but it still kinda works, with a single led. And of course the McR27xr reflector that I bought thinking I can use it in my Aleph 1 , but to my disappointment it wasnt going to happen. So I have been wondering what I will use it for..

I went ahead and epoxied the cree to the heatsink.

Wired it up..

Installed it in the mag 2D , and fired it up....I did say I will be skipping some steps..

And Vuala...or Tada....I got light...But I never did like the beam that the mag light reflector produces...So I gots to thinking...hummmmmm can I use that McR27XR reflector?????

Maybe??????

Quite Possible........

Looking good........

Ahhhhhh..much better.....

So there you go....I found a use for the McR27XR reflector after all...

I really love the beam that it produces...just enough spill and throw....

Hope you like my simple mod..

Very cool, cqb! That thing will eat a stock LED Mag's lunch!

Thank You...I really like the beam on it now....

I also made one using a mag3C and just direct driving it and it rocks...

Is it same kitchen table because of the flashlight parts??LOL

I accidentally drilled a very tiny, shallow hole into mine, but nobody's noticed yet. :sssh:

LOL! I graduated to deep big holes years ago! :grin2:
