Cree mod for a Mag 3D?

My #1 daughter has just accepted her college admission for next fall, I'm starting to put together a bug-out-bag for her. High on the list is an Uuber flashlight.

The outside is a Mag 3D, because that's what she's trained in martial arts to use. It's purple, so no one will mistake it for theirs and so it doesn't look threatening. Inside of course it's an LED, but the question is which one? The Diamond isn't bad, but has anyone done a regulated Cree?

And since I want it to run for a very long time - if price isn't an object, are there D size lithium cells I can use?

cree doesnt focus well and ringy from what i hear

i use the maxstar 6k2 drop in which on its own is good but i swapped emitter to seoul "easy to do" which is better and this to me is the best combination of bright light and runtime
