I know nothing about flashlight mod.
I just wanted to fit the collimator in my 1W led bikelight in my M1.
It has almost same height of original reflector+lens, so height was not a problem, but had slightly larger diameter.
So I had pile it out.

And the center hole was slightly smaller for cree emitter.
I piled it out too.

I said "primitive"... See this primitive job :shakehead

All the tools I used...

Anyway, I was able to fit it in M1 head.
Looks "kind of" cool, but....

I couldn't make picure appear.
I used "insert image" button. Did I do something wrong?

Even though your beam profile isn't what most people would want to have, it was a worthwhile experiment nonetheless.

I think if you change the distance between the collimator and LED you might find its focal point and clean up the beam.

@scott.crI was thinking about to put the emitter deeper by placing collimator behind the lens if I had proper grinding tools.
But I decided not to, piling is too time wasting...
It was fun though and thanks for the advice, scott.

Filing is time-intensive but not necessarily time wasted!

Drop me a PM if you want... I can turn that thing down and/or bore it on my lathe.
