Hey everyone,

Can someone please help me by explaining when would a person use a rechargeable 14670 for a SF L2 rather than rechargeable CR123's??? Are the rechargeable CR123's too big to fit in the L2 compared to primary batteries? I have found a local store that carries the rechargeable CR123 700mAh Li-Ion batteries. Would these work in the L2??

Thanks for your help! :)

R123 (à 3.7V) will kill the L2, or at least risk doing so.
If they would fit physically I do not know, but it is a moot point anyway.
I have no idea about R123 at 3.0V though.

Be a man and buy CR123 :D :poke:

Just kidding.

Hi 2hotford welcome to cpf,

I haven't got an L2, but I do have an L1 which is similar in a sense that it has also a 2-stage but with lower output and single cell driven. I have tested my L1 with a R123s from cpfer AW and unfortunately it hums when running in high mode not so in low mode. L2 takes two cells therefore 2xCR123=6 volts. I figure running it with the R123s = 2x3.7=7.4volts total. I may not recommend this. However using R123 at 3.0Volts should be ok since the peak is around 3.2volts which is comparable with the SF123A.

PS. Running 2xR123s= 2x3.7=7.4v to a L4 = Broken L4!! So beware.

All the best
