Best batteries for the Lumapower M1

I just ordered a Lumapower M1, and i wanted to know what kind of 18650's to buy and where to buy them from. Also, should they be protected or not. I can't wait to get the M1, all indications seem to be that it is a great light.

you will not be disappointed with the M1. i love mine. if you are a newbie with charging batteries (like myself) i would stick with protected cells...

I have an M1 and it kicks butt. Period!
