I have had my Fenix L1D CE flashlight for a few days now and have noted that the rear click-switch fails to engage about 10 - 15% of the time. When this happens I can not press the switch all the way in and it will not click off. Is this a problem inherent to this switch or do I have a defective unit? I checked the internal retaining ring on the switch and it seems tight. I tried to email Fenix Support, but they are currently on holiday and unable to answer my question until 2-24-2007.

It sounds like you might have a defective switch. I haven't seen the problem on mine.

I also seem to recall someone else mentioning something similiar, I think they said they took the switch apart and found that the button would "****" sideways and catch on an edge.

I am not sure if this was on a fenix light or not though. Search the forum and see if you can find the thread.

To me this sounds like a defective switch.
I had the same problem with my Ledwave XR55 and I got the switch replaced.
It will get worse and finally you will not be able to "switch" the light on.

Welcome to CPF CheviotMike; and you too Stormy. I concur that the switch is defective.
