Re: Help ! L1P CE lost general mode

If a good cleaning did not help...sounds like you should return it. Maybe try cleaning one more time...threads, contacts...then contact your dealer. Send it away.

Also won't "twist" from Turbo to low mode.
I've checked the tailcap, and the "plate" is tight.
Maybe i am getting this wrong, but ...
You have to unscrew the head to body to change the modes, not body to tailcap

You're talking about an L1D CE, right?

Yes, it's an L1D CE. AKA 1/AA Cree Fenix

No, it's the tailcap that changes modes, not the head.

The head is supposed to be used to change the modes. Try using the head.

Brain fart. I have been up all night with the flu.

Sorry, you are right.

Back to bed and the Nyquill.

It's got to get better.

John, if turning the head doesn't work (tight should be turbo, loose should be general), take the head off and check there isn't anything conductive between the metal of the head and the tinned edge of the circuit circuit board. A little stray bit of aluminium could short it out and stop the light going into general mode.

Yea, sounds like maybe the head is screwed on to tight and turning it might only be changing the focus...I tightened mine down to tight once and this is what happened...on my old L1T I had to snug it down pretty tight to get high...not so with these new models.
