Was playing with the light yesterday and it started to act strange...like discribed in another thread. But I didn`t think it was low batt. I cleaned the threads and it worked normal for a while. But then started acting up again. Changing the batt solved the problem.

It would be nice if Fenix would include info on what to expect. I would hate to give these lights out as gifts...might end up sitting in a drawer with the owner convinced it was a cheap defective light.:awman:

Re: Fenix L1D and low batt operation

Lowish battery under load is probably the problem, especially with alkalines.

Try nimh's. if not already done so.

Carbon Zinc...no chance.

What type of batts do you refer to.

Cleaning threads does 2 things.

Removes oil, grease etc.

Gives time for battery to recover.

I was running rechargables. And I think your right...cleaning the threads didn`t really make any difference...just gave the batt time to recover a bit.
