You tried to run a WA1166 or 1331 on 3x18650s through a 15ohm McE2S? Would the resistors fry? Would the batteries overheat? Would the bulb even light up?

I have a FM MN socket that I want to use to back up a ArcMania LuxV tower but would like not to have to carry an extra non 2 stage switch. Would this work? Since the 1331 is overdriven a little would low actually be pretty good light?

TIA,

Well I put in the incan and on low it just barely glows. I'll have to see if the resistors fried when I swap it back to the LED.

3x18650 yields 3 x 3.7V => 11.1 volts
if the specs say the 1166 is a 11.6 Volt Bulb, why is the resistor necessary again?

The resistor is needed for the 2 stage when the LED is in the light. I just am trying not to carry 2 tailcaps unless I need to.

I guess it depend on the wattage of that 15ohm resistor. If the current flowing throught is too high, then yes it may fry it.

They are those tiny "grain of sand" ones they put in the Mc 2Es. Since the batteries are the same for both is it the draw of the incan that would fry the resistors?
