What is the brightest AAA light currently offered by any of the manufacturers? What AAA light has the longest runtime that is currently being produced?

The brightest is probably the L0D CE from Fenix putting out 50 lumens but it lasts less than an hour.
The longest lasting AAA light is probably any 5mm LED light like an Arc P that will last around 8 hrs.
The Fenix L0D CE has a low setting that lasts over 8 hrs. So the Fenix will meet both of your requirements but they cost over $40 while a cheap AAA 5mm is probably $10-$20.

Correct, this is a two part question and Stoven answered reasonably. I realize that we are probably talking two different lights.
Incidentally, I own both but just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything. The pace of the new offerings leaves one dizzy.

Longest running is by far the outstanding Fenix E0, it can do over 12 hours of regulated light, very suitable for small tasks, navigating in poor lit conditions, work on a cockpit, etc. Cheap, too. Well worth every penny.
BTW, nice to see you around here, Peter! My Prybabies are always escorted by an Arc-P or Fenix E0, for that matter.
