Looking for headlamp host for mod

I'm looking for a headlamp to host a mod.

Should have a seperate head and battery pack. Preferably 4xAA. That way I can use 2x14500 and use the remaining space for driver and switches.

The head should take a Cree or Seoul easily. Do the generic 1w lights accept a Cree or Seoul easily?

Watertight head and batterypack.

I have always wanted to do a remote battery pack mod to a Princeton Tec EOS... maybe you should do that...

it will take a SSC P4 or Cree XR-E... cheap & waterproof...it may fit the bill...

How much space do you really need. I've but a micropuck driver, Lux board and opitcs in a 2AA in the front RayOVac Adventure headlamp.

If you use a buck converter instead you could use LiIon. Or you could rewire two or three in parrallel and use direct drive, although that gets pretty darn hot.

I have some old bulb types headlamps that I have no use for these days. PT Solo, Adventure lamp, Myo 5. If anybody can use those.
