Has anyone tried this: 6V 3000mAh NiMH Flashlight Battery Stick for the Streamlight SL-20XP / SL-15X / Ultrastinger. For $22 it seems OK. I have read some knowledgeable people not recommend Battery Space though and that worries me.

I've been making custom sticks for Stingers, SL's, etc for several years. Some sub-c cells are longer than others, and some are thicker than others, also.

The sticks seen on Ebay are usually crappy, so it's buyer beware.

If you're referring to the Battery Space NiMH stick it should be okay if you're using the regular charger; it should just take twice as long to charge. I think there are some CPF members who have bought them from either Battery Space or some other vendor that imports them. Don't know if you can use the Fast Charger with it. While NiMH batteries might be able to give you more run time, they can be more frail than their NiCD counterparts, so you'll want to take that into account if your Stinger is going to be used in weather-extreme environments, or may be subject to rough usage (e.g. public safety)
