I'm wondering about the feasibility of having a Z2 body reamed to fit an 18650 battery, and having a head built/modified around a XR-E or Seoul P4. My goal is a "super" Z2 that still fits bezel-up in a V70 holster for LEO duty use.
The KL3 head seems like a good candidate for modification, although I read the threads where someone did a one-off with a P4 with less than stellar results. I have no skills in this area myself, but if someone could do a reliable, regulated conversion providing 100+ lumens with a similar beam pattern to the P60, and longer run time, I'd be highly interested.
Key would be no sacrifice in waterproofness, shock-resistance, or loss of protection circuitry as found in SF's factory LED offerings.
