Just when I became familliar with Lumileds binning, crees and seouls came out. I haven't kept up with the info on the new LEDs. I tried searching and found the binning info but what is the best seoul you can actually buy?

I found that a seoul p4 u bin (USWOI) was available for a group buy. According to the info I found I equals a forward voltage of 3.25-3.5. So would this make it equivalent to a UWOJ but just brighter?

I also read if you want to replace a Lumileds led with a seoul you must isolate it. What exactly do you have to do to replace it?

Thanks

I can answer one of your questions:

The base of the SSC P4, that needs to be heatsinked, is connected to the + input of the emitter.

Most say that its enough to just use Arctic Silver thermal condutant, because of its insulating properties.

But, to keep things on the safe side, I'm designing my Seoul-lights with the + attached to the body (and heatsink..). The only difference is that my battery is upside-down.

So if you can do something like that, you're out of the dangerzone..

Ra.
