Similar to a Aleph 1 head? The PR head uses a reflector rather than a optic I take it?

Yes, the PR head is similar to the A1 head in that it uses a modified McR-27 refector.

A little trivia: the 'PR' designation stands for 'Pelican Reflector'... the McR27 was modeled after the reflector in the incandescent Pelican M6 tactical flashlight... McGizmo found that it focused a Luxeon remarkably well. If memory serves, the original reflectors in these heads WERE modified Pelican M6 reflectors, until the McR27 was manufactured.
