The L5 (with it's KL5) is being updated. The result (what is currently being called the KX5) is a radically different bezel design, with a Cree XR-E behind a new TIR optic.

That's awesome. I've always preferred TIR optics over metal reflectors; there's just something elegant about harnessing all the light within a glass sculpture, and throwing it out.Size15's said:

SureFire uses tempered Pyrex windows with multi (anti-reflective) coatings regardless of whether the bezel has a reflector, or a TIR optic (BTW, I believe SureFire's TIR optics are made from cyclic olefin copolymer).
