Meh, my first ever flashlight failure.

My C-LE has gone all dull after using 14500's for less than a day...I can actually look down the barrel at the cree thingy whilst it's on low (little illuminated square). Even on high it's no brighter than my Arc-P.

Lesson learned...secret/hidden mode or not...don't mess about with different voltage cells. Hope other CL-E owners will take note.

Hey CFU, did youc C-LE have the hiden locator flash function?

I have 2 of these and they both work fine using lion and nimh... no dimming as far as i can see. PS want a replacment?? :)

LB - depends if the problem is the led or the conveter.

Led_Blind, it definately has the hidden mode...I tested it several times before buying my 14500's...I honestly don't know if it's the LED or the converter that's busted. On low I can actually see the little "grile" pattern on the cree unit...

BTW, I tested several other cells (alks, lithiums and a fresh 14500 after it dimmed...the result is still the same...dim output.

PM inbound on the offer for a replacement.

That's kinda what happened to my LR12

Good news is that it's happily spewing forth lumens with a new Seoul P4 :D
