My first poll; please be nice :)

I read many posts in various threads about 3.7V 14500 in L1D CE. There are many convincing arguments for it but there are also many against it.

I'm wonder how many people use 3.7V 14500 in L1D CE, and what they feel about it.

Many thanks in advance,
Kurni

It's impressively bright, sure, but I don't use it in there very often at all.
I value the lower modes far more than DAMN BRIGHT OR STROBE! which the 14500 gives you.

IMO the high\boost mode on a NiMH is sufficient for most all moderate distance illumination.

If I want a showoff light I have the resurected LR12 (Nat Hard Anodized w\ RCR2) which has just had a Seoul P4 stuck in there :)

That's a good one for showing people and watching them flash themselves in the face. Oh the hilarity.
It's the size of a thumb so they don't expect much (unless they know me)

On 14500's the Fenix is awesome, but personally I prefer NiMH

(I would load it with a 14500 if I knew I was going to be walking around somewhere dodgy and might need some reliable razzledazzle without carrying anything larger :p)

Oh, and just to add, I do not use the 14500 in there for more than a minute (haven't needed to). I'm confident of it handling this usage :p

Where's the "No, because I like the different modes and can't use them on 14500" option?

I've ran a 14500 in it for 30 straight minutes to see how long it took to get to where you can use the different modes. After that I gave up, and my L1DCE hasn't seen a 14500 since.
