There are two segmented metal strips on one side of the emitter with a small "+" between them. Are both of them positive leads? I'm assuming the metal strip on the opposide side of the emitter than runs the full wide of the LED is "-", is this right?

I've also read the Seoul is not electrically isolated at the bottom, is the Cree the same way? I'm planning on fitting it onto a cramped Ultrafire 602C, someone else mentioned clipping the edges. Are there any precautions that I should take while clipping the edges or anything I should know in advance? Also should I literally cut the edges or would filing them down be better?

I would recommend for mounting two strips of kapton or similar plastic tape covering the metal strips on the bottom, and then making an Arctic alumina pea and placing the emitter on your pea. As for polarity the two side is + and the bar is negative.
