Peter\'s new ARC light project

Peter, you spilled the beans in an another thread saying that you are working on a new light project. Can you give us some ideas of this project (pictures would also be nice

). You know, if we bug you enough, you will provide details just to shut us up.

We are waiting.

can i tell him gransee or do you want to- i believe that we talked about this on the phone and if im right you would be smart not to say anything as you might create a worse nightmare than the ls gave you- it wont be avialable til next febuary anyway

I aways hate a million "ME TOO" posts, but in this case, "ME TOO!"

Maybe it's a pocket sized, re-chargable 3 mil cp LED spotlight with a 72 hour run time!

It is not good juju to say you know something that we all want to know and then say you can't tell us.

I might just have to round up the troops and bring out the heavy artillery.

We have ways to make you speak.

Speak up.

Re: Peter\'s new ARC light project

well gransee DID create this monster and he cant make a product without our help so here is what i know-
its a 2 123 battery pack with a regulater INSIDE the pack. it will run the ls brighter than it already is- much brighter. the second regulater inside the pack will keep the ls from being overdriven.
avialable next year (febuary) so dont call him and annoy him with questions- this happend with the ls and by rushing him he lost money.

Dunno. That's kind of like saying that three 1.5v cells are necessary for for a 5mm Nichia. If Peter can power today's LS with a single AA, then powering a brighter LS with a 123 shouldn't be much of a problem.

But then, more is ALWAYS better, right?

Re: Peter\'s new ARC light project

A new ARC model would have to have improvement on the LS to include one or more of the following (as listed in my priority):

- variable brightness
- brighter output (substantially)
- tailcap switch
- digital controled output
- greater runtime (but I don't think that this is high on my list)
- as small size as possible (no larger than current LS - would be great is it was smaller)
- truely waterproof
- lighter weight
- more input modules
- price (but not that big of a concern for me)
