Hey guys, I was wondering if the white LED's used for flashlight illumination give off UV rays? I ask because I keep looking into the flashlights and it appears that my vision is degrading. I have flashlights with those cheap chinese 1W LEDs.

First of all, Why would you be looking at a led??? IIRC the white leds use a blue tint die to exite the phosphor coating to produce white color, I THINK since leds usually emmit in one wavelenght (Blue in the case of white) it doesn't emmit UV, unless it is a UV led.
