Someone talk to me about the Gen-X

So the Rebel's out! Or might be soon, anyway. An earlier thread about the new LumiLEDs products covered the Rebel extensively.

However, there were also mentions (and pictures) of something called the Gen-X emitter, which seemed to have a package size similar to the K2, but with the Rebel's performance [The latter being anecdotal rather than datasheet].

I know we're all excited about the Rebel, sure - I want some in an LED-backlit computer screen - but can anyone talk to me about the Gen-X? That seems to be the business for portable lighting applications.

Well I'm not excited about the Rebel - why should I be about something new which doesn't perform as well as parts you can already buy?

Distinctly interested in the Gen-X though, which I understand should perform a LOT better than the Rebel
