Finally my Cree P4 WC and Lambda pill assembled into a MiniMag AA

Does it get very hot after being on for a while ?

The new Lambda pill has a build in aluminium heat sink that conducts the heat away from the cree to the flashlight heat, and it does this quite well. I have turned on the light for 15 minutes and did not notice any dip in brightness, but the maglite head gets warm.
