This is a pre-pay for the 4 cell 15 watt Ostar LED flashlight with multi brightness levels. I really hate to do a pre-pay but have no choice as this ended up being an extremely expensive project to date. Lead time is approximately 8 weeks from the time the pre-pay ends. The bodies are being machined slowly in order to do a good job. The head and barrel being one peice is taking its toll on the machinist since a manual lathe used to prevent tapering at the end of the barrel. As a special to CPF members, I know its a bit steep but would like to ask $760.00 per unit. This includes express mail shipping and PP fees. Plus, I will be donating $15.00 to CPF from each sale. I will leave this pre-pay open for 12 days. The flashlight will come with 4 x CR123 batteries and a heavy duty carrying case. I will be offering only 15 units. This is a very small run. One pc of warning is that the beam has a slight yellow tint but is extremely bright.

I can only accept Paypal for payment and my Paypal e-mail address is: *********** When sending payment, make sure to include your complete shipping address, CPF NAME and what you are paying for.

• Functions: low, medium, high and SOS.
• Generates immense lumens using the Osram Ostar 15watt LED.
• Uses 4 x CR123A or RCR123A or 2 x 18650 batteries.
• Tactical click tail cap with a twist lock out.
• Carrying case.
• Tactical head.
• Reverse polarity protected
• Heat sink fins.
• One piece head and body.
• Precision internal design of the classic Super Flashlight is retained and refined.
• Faceted reflector.
• T6061 high grade aluminum alloy.
• SchottB270 Super clear glass with AR coating on both sides.
• Silicon O-ring sealed.
• HA natural.
• Chem-kote contacts.
• Laser engraved serial number.
• Length = 9 inches, width of head = 1.5 inches.
• Anti-roll tail holds the light in place. It is very comfortable to hold and allows many hand positions.

I also wanted to mention the drive current to the 15 watt Ostar LED which is as follows: low = 100ma, medium = 550ma and high = 1000ma SOS = 500ma. I will post more pictures in a couple of days. If you have any questions, feel free to ask or send me a PM.

There may already be a thread on this, but do you happen to have beamshots? How about comparative shots against something similiar?

:thanks:

Re: Pre-sale: Multi function SF-V w/15 watt Ostar.

The beam from the SF-V is in between a flood and spot. I don't know what I have to compare it with but, will find something and post beamshots soon.

The brightness bin of the 15 watt Ostar will be a PY in brightness at a 700ma drive current. On the data sheet its listed as: 520 to 610 lumens. In high mode, the drive current to the LED will be 1 amp so it should exceed these numbers.

Wow. More than 600 lumens form a small LED light. The world is changing fast. Too bad my wallet is stuck in the slow lane, but good luck with this sale Mike.

Here are some beam shots, they are not the best as I don't have anything to compare with. The first pictures is a comparasion in high against my car headlights which use aftermarket bulbs rated at 55 watts but put out light equivelent to 100 watt halogens.

The next two pictures were taken with the SF-V in medium and high.

This is one LED flashlight thats comparable to an HID in light output.

Well, there seems to be no interest in a pre-sale of the SF-V flashlight. This is not to deperately bump the thread. If there are any interest when the SF-V's are completed, then they will be sold at the retail price.

Dark Mower: Thank you.

I don't think that there is a lack of interest... more of a lack of funds. I think the asking price is worth it, but so is that of a Porsche. In other words, if I could, I would. =)

I'm looking forward to this one. I can't fathom 600+ lumens coming from a single emitter.

I think I'm going to like the tint too for rendition outdoors. Can't wait to compare it to my M6.

For those of you who missed out...

All pictures below were taken with a Kodak P850 Digital Camera mounted on a Tripod, Shutter speed set to 1/2 second, f2.8 ISO 50. The camera lens and the window of the Flashlights are approximately 30' from the shutter. Flashlight held one inch to the left of camera.

Those really are fantastic shots - it looks like the L2 except better beam color and quality - and VOLUME. Very nice, ArcMania, I'm impressed as usual. :)

Any outside beamshots?

Here are some beamshots of my SF-V Ostar against some high powered Magmods.

The lineup in order of appearance (left to right):
1) SF-V running 4 X RCR123, shot taken on hi.
2) Nickel Quad Cree (Q4 WH), McR19XR, shark/pot, 2 X 18650, shot taken on hi.
3) Black Quad SSC (P4 USWOH), McR20S, otherwise same as above.
4) Mr. X, Lux V (X3TW), 6 X NiMH AA, unsure of drive current (1.5A?).

The shots were taken at ISO200, F5, 3 sec, and white balance at sunshine.
