    Default how much does the polished "reflector" help the arc aaa?

    thought of painting it with gitd paint.
    anyone do this yet?

    No need for paint. I polished my AAA Arc reflector using sand paper folded into a small triangle. Then fine-polished with "Semichrome" polish on a Q-tip. I didn't experience any problems with the finish outside of the reflector being worn off.

    It's hard to quantify but I think my highly polished reflector is about 5% to 10% brighter on the outer beam. The central beam doesn't seem to be any brighter.

    The paint he plans to use is glow paint.

    yep glow in the dark paint.
    figure the led will do a fine job of charging it up.guess i will just try it and if i dont like i can clean it off and polish the reflector.

    Sorry I let this one go for so long. Do it, you'll like it. I've never really found the "reflector" to make much of a difference, though others seem more impressed. The bit of side-light from the LED will really make GITD paint come alive though. Stick a straw over the LED when you paint it, and be sure to rough up the "reflector" a bit before you paint.

    i was thinking of the straw to keep the led free of paint.
    whos glow powder is the best for this?
