SO I'm getting some Sub-C cells in...what maglites will fit best?

Hey all, I'm getting a set of 10 sub-c cells in since there are no 1/2 Ds available. However, I was wondering what maglite bodies would be the best fit for combinations of 4, 5, or 6 of these cells?

6 sub-C's in a 4D seems to be the original ROP formula and still a good one. The sub-c stick is a bit longer (6x43 = 258 vs. 4x60 = 240) so you need to modify the spring a bit.

5 sub-Cs at 215mm don't fit any of the D's particularly well but would fit a 4C with the same spring modding as 6 in a 4D.

4 sub-Cs at 172mm would fit nicely in a 3D although you might want to stretch the spring just a tiny bit.

If you had one of those 7C lights someone just discovered in stock at a Swiss online dealer, you could fit 8 sub-C's neatly. Just thought I should mention that

I wish more of the custom builders would make sub C bodies.there is a plethora of sub C's out there and most of them are high curent cells.The price of these cells is good too.
