True novice question- how hard would it be to replace the stock LuxIII in my LEDBeam with a Seoul? This poor light has been sitting on a shelf, unloved and unused. I was considering modding it then sending it to my folks.
When I unscrew the bezel the aluminum slug holding the emitter is easily accessible, as are the power leads. It appears that I could simply pry off the LuxIII after desoldering the leads. However, the LuxIII is in some type of rubber casing. I know I'd need to isolate the Seoul from the pedestal, and adhere it with some Arctic Silver and/or epoxy.
This may be a cheap, easily accessible host for a complete newbie like me to try out. Whaddya think? Any tips? Any recommended places to purchase a Seoul P4 (bare emitter)?
Thanks in advance!
