WOW! I know there is a big voltage difference but I had to see it for myself. I had a brand new AW protected 14500 sitting around but never charged it. I decided to do it tonight.

Looks like I'll be keeping the 14500 in. Don't worry about me burning anything up. If it happens I'll just get a new light. :nana: Seriously, BIG difference (obviously)..

Whatever you do, don't put 2 14500s in your L2D. And I'm not sure that the L1D on 14500s is that much brighter than the L2D.

Wow, glad I didn't buy a 2007 Inova T4. Good comparison shots. BTW the AW protected 14500s that I have from hound are 750 mAh.

Mine is being sent out for potential SSC modding. We shall see in two weeks time.

I'm doing an impromptu runtime test right now. Just turned it on with a freshly recharged 14500 and hit the stopwatch. Very unscientific. That's how it will be in the real world. :) No fancy graphs from me.

Any chance you are also using a light meter to check the relative light level during your time test? I was just curious as to how the regulation worked with the 14500.

Unfortunately no. I don't own any special equipment for any kind of testing. I just ran it for one hour straight before I got sleepy and turned it off. I didn't notice any dimming from my calibrated eye ball.
