I just received my G model and I do like it
although I do have some issues with it.
This is my first CMG purchase I do not have
a baseline reference. I will attempt to compare
Arc to GMG.

Arc-AAA..........................................Ultra-G

Anodize
Very hard. Will not..................Thin. Can see underlying
scratch from a...........................aluminium in spots.
sharp knife.................................Can scratch it with a knife.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Finish
All edges have a......................On tail piece, edges
slight bevel or...........................very sharp.Tool marks
rounding out.............................visible on all surfaces.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Knurling
Covers alost all........................Sharp and well defined.

.............................................small band on body.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Beam
Very bright and.........................Bright with blue hotspot
smooth witha blue....................that fades and then a
hotspot and slight.....................blue ring again.
green corona.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Fit
Tight. No rattle........................Tight. No foam washer.
............................................When in off position,
..............................................battery rattles.

As I said, I do like this light but it pales next to Arc. The only area that the Ultra-G shines is in the longer run time. An Arc/finity mod will help the beam but the beam is the least item that needs improvement. Arc really needs to make a AA but I understand the reason that cannot be done at this time.

Yep. I ordered a couple, because I can put lithium AA batteries in them and lose them in the glove compartment or spare tire well of my car until the next big earthquake happens, and increase the odds that I'll have a working flashlight when I really need one (and one that works in very cold battery-killing temperatures).

I consider this cheap as insurance. (I used to set up standard flashlights with lithium C and D cells for emergency use -- but people tend to find the flashlights and use the batteries up casually, which wastes their value.

Once lithium AAAs come out, Arcs will fill every niche.
