NiCd, NiMH or alkaline for best Arc LS AA continious runtime?

Received my Arc LS first yesterday with the additional AA tube. What would be the best AA type batteries to feed it to obtain the best continous runtime?

Hi there. Looks like we are the only 2 people in Africa with LS's!!!
I bought some AA lithiums which I believe give the best run time. See if you can get them in Namibia, if not I will put you on to someone here in Johannesburg.
By the way I have a couple of the Azoteq PWM switches for you.

lithiums give the brightest and longest runtime
Alkalines come in second and NiMH come in last & dimmest.

Just after I mailed I found your article and runtimes.
Interesting though, I have a custom build flashlight with a LS being driven at 280mA. The brightness is exactly the same as my LS first.
