I have made up a few Mini-Mag 2AA tailcap blanks. I can put a few different simple designs on the blank part. There are 2 sizes - 3/4 inch and 1 inch. These can either have a polished or brushed finish. They still have the standard gasket. The blanks are unfinished aluminum. I can also leave them as unfinished aluminum.

The cost will be $11.00 plus $1.50 mailing cost.

these are 2 finished pieces..

Will,
I'd be interested in a couple caps plus one of your custom machined mMags on your next nickel run.

These are sized for the regular mini-mags, I can make some that will work on the MagLEDs - the threaded part is longer. They will just use the spring, not the thin metal strip or the black plastic retainer. Nickel is conductive, the threads will make a good enough electrical contact.

very cool
there might be interest in some that incorporate slots for Barts trits instead of the full grooves on the one on top.
still nice work, any plans for C mag versions:)

I don't have a milling machine, the slots are broached on my lathe. I can only do end to end.

I will look into the 'C' size. I don't have any aluminum that size.

That head is a Big Head Conversion, made and sold by H22A (CPF user ID), I know he made some for both the mini and mini LED. I got one and I wanted the rest of the light to match, so I started the nickel plating. I thought the original tailcap didn't look right - so I made something a little bigger.

Any possibility you could make 18650 bodies for minimags?

Clearly such a product would a new talicap design. You could easily machine a donut type tailcap into which a any minimag compatible tailcap could be threaded allowing the use of either minimag, terralux or any other cap that fits minimags.

O you could just make the tailcap end Surefire C-Series compatible.

Sorry to hijack your thread.

BTW your BHC in nickel looks much better than my two do in black.

Re: interest - custom mini-mag tailcaps - nickel

I thought about trying to make something for the mini using a 18650 - I do not have the ability to cut a multi - start thread like on the top of the body. The way the mini switch is set up and the way the head goes over the body make it impossible to fit an 18650 battery up that far. I have a couple of lights that I cut for a 14650 - they are nice lights. In my opinion, the minis are best left for a 14 (AA) battery width.

Re: interest - custom mini-mag tailcaps - nickel

I am hoping to get a few lights to be nickel plated, It does not pay to have just the tailcaps plated, they have to go in with the lights. I am going to leave the various threads open and see if I can get a few more lights to be plated. I want to do these, but it may be a few weeks before I have enough to send to the plater to meet his minimum.

It looks like I will have enough nickel plate work to meet the minimum for the shop. Can you send me an PM or post specifically what you want so I have an idea of what I might have to make or finish over the weekend.

thanks very much

I can also make these for the MagLED 2AA or 3AA lights. The threaded part for those is longer.
