Where in these hallways were we discussing knots? Just received the "Animated Knots" CD & it's really a nice resource - though you can access it all online if I'm not mistaken?

Neither the woman who died nor her climbing partner liked to tie a knot at the end of their rappel rope, according to the article. Apparently, her prejudice against stopper knots cost her dearly, but at least she died while doing something she loved.

Both climbers were far more experienced than me, but I always tie a figure eight knot at the end of my rappel ropes. Having that stopper knot at the end of the line has come in handy several times for me, but it does get hung up on things occasionally.

Sad, but thats her fault,
Thats one of the MAIN rules of climbing like that, you always tie and end knot, period.
