It's too bad that most of the fusion power research money goes to tokamaks; the alternative configurations like the Sandia Z-pinch offer a lot of promise over tokamaks, which suffer from instabilities arising from their circular geometry.

That reminds me, Turner's is having a sale on some fission rods and reels... better renew my fission license while I'm there...

Interesting article. I remember writing a paper in school about 35 years ago about alternative energy sources, especially fusion. Tokamaks were the method then. Apparently we're finally moving ahead.
