can some kind souls please tell me how do I switch the P3D to turbo mode for 160+ lumens?

I notice that my P3D has rings.

there could be something in the lens as well as the center hotspot is not gradual

Did I get a bad P3D?

To switch to turbo mode you just tighten the head. I don't know if you got a bad flashlight, but rings in the beam are a Fenix well known trademark.

the center of the hot spot seems to have some disturbance.

I am using 2 X CR123 4.2V rechargables

Will this give 160 lumens in turbo mode?

It looks brighter then the P1D CE

but not by much

:huh2:

I remember that during the development of Lumapower D-Mini there's been some discussion as to the fact that a perfect focusing of a reflector brings out some disturbance in the centre of the beam. This is due to projecting the details of the CREE LED into the hotspot:

As to batteries I can't help you because at 3V I only use primaries. If you just wait for a few days you will be able to find answers in Chevrofreak's next review.

on the fenix lights using rechargables makes the lights automatically go into turbo mode from what i hear....
use some non rechargables and see what happens

Not with the P3D. Two 3.6v (off the charger at 4.19v) drive the P3D bright, but all modes are available and distinguishable.
