DeWalt 14.4V snake light mod?

I have a DeWalt 14.4v "snake light" which shares the batteries with my various other DeWalt tools. This is a very useful light for use in the garage, but these days is seeming very underpowered compared to my LED lights.

I'd like to mod it with an LED - probably a Cree. But can I get a regulator which would work well from a 14.4v battery? It shows 15.7v straight out of the charger.

There's loads of space in the body of the lamp, so shouldn't be difficult to do if I can find the right components.

Don't suppose anyone's done this already?

Four Crees in series would run in direct drive with 14.4v. Just like how five in series runs on 18v of Makita.

No driver needed; probably a good idea to use a heatsink/fan for Pentium 4 (which would also run OK on 14.4v).

Ah, yeah! That would be impressive for the output, but I don't think my 1.3Ah batteries would last very long. Maybe 20 minutes, max.

This stepdown converter from the Sandwich Shoppe looks like it would do it. Anyone know what they're like for sending to the UK?
