Mag 2C Mods

Hi,

I'm looking for various kinds of Mag2C mods, anyone know of any good ones?

Goto the incandecent forum and look for the ROP (Roar of the pelican) FAQ. It has been hanging out on the first page lately.

I almost have all the parts for mine, just waiting on the battery holder that should be here early next week!

There is only the Mag2D ROP but no 2C. However, if anyone knows how to make a 2C ROP, it would much appreciated!

2 C rop can be done with either 2 18650s or 2 AW C Li-ion batts. both require some work, but do quite well.

For both the 18650 and C li-ion cells, exactly what kind of work are they??

Yes
You will need a Kiu high temp socket.
Plastic conduit spacer for 2 X 18650 Batteries.
2 X 18650 Batteries.
Aluminium reflector.
Some sort of glass lens.
Modified end cap.
Norm

Oh, another really simple 2C mod I really like.

Get a magnum-star 6 cell bulb, a lenght of 3/4 automotive heater hose, and 3xCR123s. Slap it together and it is really quite bright. Cheap mod to, I have a couple.

I put a pair of AW "C" cells in, with an extender because they're a bit long.
Then either put on a Terralux TLE-6EX or a bulb from a 5D.

what about the AW C cells with a WA1111?

I have a 2.25 Mag C running a 1111 with 2 C li ions on a FM 2 inch deep reflector, this setup kicks butt!

What kind of work do I have to do to make this set up??

Probably the triton.

A 2C Tri-LED with 2x18650 or 2xAW C cells makes a very nice mod, not a thrower like a ROP or WA01111 Incan but it has it place. It makes a very nice "bump-in-the-night" house light that will light up a room or flood a good size lawn out to 75 yards or a little better.

I've read some posts by other users and saw they had problems with the spring when using 2 x 18650 cells. Is there anyway to solve this? Or can I use AW's C Li-Ion cell to power the WA1111 or the ROP?

You can use the c-cells with the ROP or WA1111 no problem. As far as 18650's go, I have 2 of them in a 2C running the ROP low(I have a 2D with the ROP high). I wrapped paper around the outside of the batteries so they don't rattle, and modified the tailspring to fit the cells. I cut the spring down to about 2 coils, and ground off the anodizing on the inside of the cap...and the spring sets down INTO the tail cap now. Also, protected cells are too long for my set-up.....but it was free so I am not complaining
