I can't let TB and others have all the fun. So here's my first from scratch tail cap. I made it to match my new 18650 bodies. What do you Guys think?

Great work, matches the body very nicely too !
What's next ? Head ? SS/Ti maybe ?

Either way, keep up the good work.

Yeah, the head's next. Whenever I get some spare time I'm going to work on one. Just haven't decided yet which reflector to build it around. Probably a 27mm though.

(no offense intended to anyone)
I've seen many custom lights with small and medium reflectors.
Medium being up to 27mm.
I would like to see a custom head, made to fit an McR-38.
(Maybe even McR-45, but those are hen's teeth for now :grin2: )
Could be due to higher price for larger diameter bars, but
if you can find some material, I bet you'll be capable to turn a
nice 38mm "Turbo" head for an SSC... Imagine the light that
will collaminate !
Given the head is big, you can also (more easily) overdrive the emitter
to 1amp... Tempted ? I am...
Cheers Amigo ! :grin2:

Some of the Aluminum bodies and bezels are typically made from tube stock, not solid bar. I am very familiar with maglites - the body and the bezel are definately made from tube stock, the tailcap is solid, the head - I am not 100% sure, but it seems to be from solid. This reduces the cost and the amount of waste.

Very nice, can I have one in Hard Anodized natural?

Very possible. I'm going to open up a feeler thread in the BST forum in the next few days. Keep your eyes peeled. :)
